Week 10 – The Habits Are Staying

This is it – the final week of the Summer Shred Challenge.  We completed our final InBody scan this week, and the results confirmed what I had already started to feel.  We both lost fat mass and more importantly gained muscle mass.

Their offer this last week is Tesamorelin/AOD-9604/MOTS-c.  I’ve mentioned this peptide stack in my other writings and am currently using it.  I can’t say it transformed my body in any dramatic way, but I do believe that it assisted with changing my muscle/fat ratio which was the goal.  It did require that I exercise and follow all the guidance that I’ve received over the last 10 weeks.  I’m continuing to study peptides with curiosity, but I’m no longer interested in chasing every optimization tool available.

My weight didn’t change as much as I expected.  I am down about 3.5 pounds and I’ll take it.  I now know that there are other metrics that tell me more about my body.  I’ve developed eating and fasting windows that feel natural and are now a part of how my body prefers to function.  I’ve eliminated late night eating habits now that I understand that a little snack can have a very negative impact on my body’s ability to do its night shift work.

I was surprised at how quickly and easily my body and mind began to adapt to these changes.  It’s as if my body had been trying to tell me these things all along, but I rarely slowed down enough to listen.  Just having a heightened awareness of what’s going on internally with food intake made me better understand how important small decisions are daily.  That made this sustainable and now a part of my lifestyle.

I started this journey more out of curiosity with not a lot of expectations.  I was curious to see what I could learn from the pros.  And I learned a lot.

Pursuing perfection is not the goal, neither is extreme fasting nor trying every optimization tool on the market.  My biggest takeaway is that the small daily changes can have a lasting impact.  The challenge may be ending, but many of the habits are staying.
